At a crowded Town Hall Meeting in Qalqilya, Zimam recognised the power of women's voices in working towards a prosperous future for Palestine.

Partnering with the office of the local governor, the event highlighted the incredible work of local female entrepreneurs, Zimam's Town Hall Meeting put women from the community into the spotlight. First up was Maha who, following an accident which left her husband disabled, became the city’s first female truck driver in order to support her family. Then there was Tahani who, unable to afford university, managed to earn an academic scholarship and then an MA and PhD. She is now one of the few women professors at Al-Quds University. And finally, Jamileh shared the story of how she was able to use the success of her business to expand the city’s shopping area and rectify Qalqilya’s congestion problem along the main road.

We are very proud of the work these incredible women are doing to make life better for their families and their communities. They are an inspiration for thousands of young girls in Qalqilya.
— Wisam Ziadeh, Zimam Field Coordinator

Following the event, many new women have expressed their desire to join Zimam.

Meanwhile in Gaza, our Field Coordinator Atta ran women's empowerment workshops, encouraging young women to raise their voices and emphasising the importance of their role in building a brighter future for Palestine.
