AMBASSADORS FOR CHANGE
Zimam Ambassadors is a new programme preparing the activists to be able to convey the Palestinian narrative to a foreign audience when they meet with delegations from abroad, and to understand the PLO positions on issues such as borders, settlements, Jerusalem and refugees.
In a training session in Nablus, participants first watched a video about the history of Palestine between 1880 and 1931 in order to learn more about the situation prior to the conflict between Jews and Arabs in the region. In small groups, the activists then discussed the characteristics of the Palestinian people during that period and the primary factors contributing to the establishment of the State of Israel.
The session emphasized the importance of research and learning for a deeper understanding of the conflict, and also invited the participants to put themselves in the shoes of others.
